I made it to the next notch on my belt! WOO HOO
Here’s a pic of the old belt… ran out of notches 😉
Well, I’m not sure how much I’ve lost, but I used to fill the red shirt. I figure I’ll be done when I can wear that striped shirt in public, instead of hiding behind my old tent.
I’ve had this belt for about 5 years. It groaned under my bulk for almost four years. Last year, I decided to throw out my scale, ignore the labels (except Cholesterol) and just try to eat “better” I cut another new hole in it yesterday because my pants were falling off while I mowed the lawn. Everyone, most especially my parents, seem dissapointed when I can’t quantify how much weight I’ve lost. Based on my last doctor visit, it’s somewhere between 50 and 70 pounds. My cholesterol is down 50 to 70 points, too. Strangely, it doesn’t make me feel different. I don’t know, maybe there’s some plateau out there that will give me some confidence in this endeavor, but until then, I’ll just plod along the same way.
I was taking a personality test the other day. The question was "What do you consider your best feature?" I thought for a moment, then decided that my hands are my best feature. They're wonderful tools for living my life. They're big and strong. I have to take care not to hurt people when I shake hands. They can be very delicate, too. These are hands that can give 90 minute backrubs, or break an 8th grade bully's wrist. That was the last fist fight I got into. These hands should not be responsible for any more cracking sounds.
I do clean my nails. The mark on my right thumb nail is from sliding a large battery out of our server rack.smashed it on the rack frame. Only a couple more weeks until it's gone. Can't wait.
