Card

The Queen of Hearts

Manuel does a themed post each Saturday. This week, the topic is “Card”. I don’t play cards, so I found this assignment pretty hard. After thinking about it, I remembered some high speed photography taken by Eugene Edgerton. He took amazing pictures of “the instant”. By timing strobes in his lab, he was able to stop motion in microscopic increments. One of the pictures he took was of a bullet slicing a playing card in half. I hope that’s close enough 😉

Ocho Cientos Cosas

I have to post these rules: one, each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves. Two, people who are tagged need to write their own blog entry about their eight things and post these rules. Three, at the end of your entry, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names/pseudonyms/blogs. Four, don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Unfortunately, between MsDemmie and the people she tagged, and the people they tagged, I’ve run out of blogging people to pass this meme onto.  So, the hereditary line ends with me, goodbye 800 strange things about me.  (Feels like 800 when I sit down to think up 8)

  1. I’m bad with names, can’t remember them at all
  2.  I never tailgate when I drive.
  3. My IQ is 143
  4. I don’t think IQ is a good measure of Intelligence, otherwise, I’d be a lot smarter than I am.
  5. I lived in Spain for a year when I was 5/6
  6. I’ve been using computers for 24 years
  7. I don’t entirely like to mow my lawn, I keep comparing it to my neighbor’s putting green.
  8. I have a two inch, titanium screw in my left knee.

Christmas Meme

I have been tagged by MsDemmie to do this xmass meme. hmmm, I avoided christmas music, christmas cheer, but not the meme 😉
The Rules:

1. Players start by listing three things he/she got for Christmas.

2. Then they list three things he/she definitely did not want to get for Christmas.

3. Then he/she tags five friends and lists their names.

4. The ones who get tagged write on their blogs about their Christmas wishes, and state the rules clearly.

5. Then tag five more victims. The tagger needs to leave the taggees a comment that says you have been Christmas tagged! and tell them to read the tagger’s blog.

Three Things I Got:

1. $$$

2. A trip to the Dominican Republic

3. KOTN

Three Things I Didn’t Want:

1. a gaggle of mosquito bites.

2. Broken wide angle lens

3. A re gifted watch that doesn’t work.

I am tagging:

Scottage

Sorry I don’t have more folks to tag, I’ll spread xmass cheer some other time, bah Humbug 😉
