Suresh and I emailed back and forth a while back about cropping pictures. His point was that framing a picture isn’t nearly as important as getting the exposure and focus right. The picture can be cropped later to get the effect you’re after.

My screensaver plays my pictures as a slideshow. The top picture came up and I thought to myself that it could use a little cropping. I cropped two pictures of a trip I took to Mendon Ponds this summer. It was a fun exercise.

I remember this series. This grasshopper stayed very still for me and even let me wiggle the leaf to get it up on top for a profile shot. It was almost as fun as chasing that leopard frog around. šŸ™‚
