Lollypop Favorites

Meekoo is my favorite again this week.  He was still in the information technology office when I showed up.  I gave up and gave him a rub after he tried to type my password in for me.

Imagine coming up with new cat names on a continuous basis.  how many cats can be named “Snowball” or even “Lester” before you have multiples with the same name?  The staff ranges pretty far seeking inspiration.  Let me introduce Master Splinter on the left.  The two on the right are called Smokey and Ol black… From the picture, I think I’ll call them Opus and Steve Dallas.

Mendon Ponds

I bought a new lens for my camera a couple weeks ago.  I’ve taken it to Lollypop a couple times, but it’s been too cold to really take it out and try it.  Yesterday, it was in the 40’s and sunny, so Amber and I went over to Mendon Ponds Park to check out the Deep Pond trail.

I eventually pulled out the telephoto to do some birding.  My favorite tree in the park is on the right.  I’m impressed with the new wide angle.  It’s a lot lighter than my old lens, and 25 mm wider.  Tamron 17-35mm

The geese are coming back.  there must have been 4 or 5 hundred of them on Hundred Acre Pond.  They all took off at the same time when a couple fisherman spooked them.  They flew right over our heads and we didn’t get hit once.

Meekoo here is my favorite this week. He’s so scared around dogs that the Information Systems director called me on Friday asking that I not leave Amber in her office while Meekoo’s in town. I left Amber with the Enforcement officer and peered inside the office. Instead of a hissing ball of fur, I found a purr machine lap Lord. I ran my photo reports in between demands for attention.

I’ve had a harder time than I thought adjusting to my new position at work. I haven’t felt like surfing the net or writing in this space. I’m doing alright, just introspective.

She was very friendly.  I liked her blue eyes and funny tail.  She’s a tiger/calico/persian?  Your guess is as good as mine.

I only had a dozen pictures to take this week.  I love seeing all those empty cages.

Lollypop Favorites

I’ve been a slow poster lately, so I’m going to put up two Lollypop favorites today.  This horse was my favorite last week.  He just wanted a scratch, and didn’t mind that I was taking pictures with the other hand.  It’s always amazing to me to be very close to a horse.  He wanted a good sniff, probably because I stank of cat, ferret, dog, rabbit, and hamster after taking all my pictures.

The gray cat was such a sweetheart.  He’ll go fast once he gets up front to the adoption suites.
